Google has updated its “Games and Gambling” policy, clearly stating that sweepstake casinos are no longer considered social casino apps. Previously, these products were allowed to advertise relatively freely because they used virtual currency.
However, the ability to withdraw winnings became the turning point. Even indirect interaction with real money places such platforms into the full gambling category.
From now on, sweepstake casinos fall under the same strict rules as other gambling products — meaning tougher moderation, more challenges when launching campaigns, and a higher risk of account suspensions.
Industry experts expect this direction to continue, as major advertising platforms increasingly tighten regulations around gaming products and dual-currency mechanics.
